3weeks since they took my money and I am still waiting for mine.
I guess DX is a crapshoot on when you get your stuff.

1 week or 6 months.

Well i have plenty to do until then.

Got it 2 days ago it seems to work well. I will do a review of it shortly.
The only thin I wish it had on it is a momentary function on the pushbutton.

It would be a good nightstand light if it did.

Is there a mod for this????

The runtime tests I did with the RC-T5 I received from DX a few days ago.

18650s seem to be a quite better deal in this flashlight

Very well regulated with 2x 18650 !
I tought that output was lower if not used with 3 or 4x rcr123's.

Does all the RC-T5 offer similar discharge curve and output with 18650's, or is this the last driver version / RC-T5 revision ?

Thanks for help.

I received mine from DX two weeks ago. I think it must be the last version.
But as I don't plan to buy another RC-T5, I can't be sure that every ot them has the same power or discharge rate.

My first one was troublesome. It flickered intermittently rather easily on the low mode. So I sent it back. A month or two went by and I hadn't heard anything from them. Thankfully I sent it with delivery confirmation. I gave them the tracking number, they verified it and then sent me a replacement.

The new version looks nice, having anodizing in two shades. I popped in the batteries and it worked just fine. For a while, that is.

If you lightly rap the head with your hand, it cuts out. I took it apart and the head contacts seem fine. The tailcap battery spring seems to have enough tension. What's the deal? I saw someone mentioning using 8mm magnets to increase the battery contact tension. Since the forward end of the battery tube is just a metal disc, would that be the optimal location for it? Does the 8mm magnet solve this annoying issue?

After having used the flashlight on his bike all winter a buddy of mine fried it accidentally (reverse polarity connector issues).
Could someone recommend a driver that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg please?

P.S. Thanks Norm! Fixed!
P.P.S. Uploaded a better picture.

Could someone at least say what's the rating value of the capacitor that has burnt out? Please? ))

not from those pics. the cap (the black blob under the inductor?) is burn'd beyond ID
Can you move the inductor out of the way and take another macro of just the burn't component?

The photo is taken after I took the light apart. I now need someone with a working light take a look at it and tell me what the ratings are.

Some people did bite the bullet and bought much more expensive Shark/Remora boards - hopefully some of them could help...
