2xCR123A With Greatest Throw

I was wondering with all of the recent updates in LEDs as well as reflectors what 2 cell CR123A throws the furthest?

Or the Tiablo A9 Q5.

I think the Dereelight DBS V2 with SMO, the Tiablo A8/A9 with SMO and the new Streamlight Super Tac have round about the same throw.

The OP wants a 2 CR123 light. Most Deerelight pills have a max input of 4.2v(includes all the digital pills). You can't use the 2SM(max input 6.0v) pill with the DBS V2.
In order of throw DBS > A9 > MRV.

Wrong! The DBS V2 uses the 2SM pill just fine. In fact here is a web link from the Dereelight webpage where they sell that EXACT setup.

Actually I'm not. Your link shows the DBS V1. Do you have a V2 with a 2SM pill? I have both the V1 and V2 along with a 3SD, DI, and 2SM. The 2SM will not work properly with the V2 because the V2 is shorter. They took the length out of the head area, which is what you use to twist, to get the 2 levels.

What kind of burn time are we talking about for the Dereelight DBS with 2X CR123A?

I THINK you can get a 2SM Dereelight pill that is just 1-stage. I THINK they have one for 6v, and one for higher voltage if using 2xR123's. They can be used in the DBS V2, but they no longer have the option for 2-stages via the twist, they are just set up for 1-stage full output. You'd just have to PM Dereelight (Alan) and tell him you are interested in a DBS V2 with a pill that can give 1-stage full output with 2xCR123A's.

Thanks Steve. That's them. I need to keep a spread sheet of all the DBS pills, there are so many.

Those should work fine in the DBS V2, or DBS V1.

I checked the Dereelight website and it offers the 1SM-1 pill (2XCR123A compatible) as an option for the new DBS V2 black. What would the maximum lumen output of this unit be and could someone explain how the 1SM-1 pill works in terms of output levels and adjustability.

It's a one stage (level) pill. The 1SM-1 and 1SM-2 drive the LED at 1.0 amp. The digital series pills drive the LED at 1.2 amps. I would guess ~ 200 lumens for the 1SM-1.
