It's all supply and demand folks - How many chromed Al were made? I'd wager a LOT fewer than Ti or slate Al. A nice looking, smooth working, rare light? Hmmmmm, I can't afford it, but if I could it would be shipping to Wisconsin... :grin2:
Just my $0.02
gg

NO KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had no problem paying just over $250 :broke:for my HA slate McluxIII PD, but WOW!!!:eek:oo:

Good luck:twothumbs, you'll need it:devil:.

Well, you know what they say - Slate is great, but Chrome stands alone. Very few of these made indeed. You can count the number that have been resold here on the fingers of one hand (assuming you can count). You pays your money and you makes your choice.

I agree, there are very few Chrome PDs about and very few ever up for sale. This is a collector and a very classy user with a hard wearing finish and the smoothest threads--I know, I have one. I consider this price a fair one for this model.

.. you are the helpful one! Way to go, CLHC.

You ought to rent yourself out as a public service.

What is goin' on here? This rare beauty has been on the Boards for this long with no "I'll take it" offers? That's amazing. There was a time in the not-too-distant past where a chrome PD would go in about donn-speed. What's the deal? :(

Too close to Tax season, and a recent pair of "waves" may be hindering some rare beauties sales this recent days...That S27-PD from Luxlunatic has been for sale too long also. Both this and the S27 would have been snatched up in a blink of an eye, not too long ago.

Good Luck with the sale.

Re: FS: Chrome McLux III PD

How is the LE? Specifically, what is the beam like? Approximate lumens out-the-front?

Thanks!

Re: FS: Chrome McLux III PD

Thanks for the suport guys.

Hard times indeed. This one was actually sold to a fellow in Red China (locea) who committed and then strung me along for three weeks, finally backing out entirely. Caveat emptor, I guess.

The Chrome PD runs a TWOJ with the original Wiz2 driver (525mA/50mA I think). No one has touched the innards since they left Don's hands in California. Of course, it's easy to upgrade, and many have done so since the Luxeon has fallen from grace.

The Luxeon had and still has the smoothest and best beam of any LED ever made - No Cree-rings and no Seoul spectral shift... not as bright of course. The T-bin specs are widely published, I just can't remember (and don't much care). Maybe 75lm or so at this level?.

Cheers,

... could be. Let's say 62.5! My integrating sphere is in the shop. ;)

It's white and it's bright, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

What on earth is a Starke? Isn't that the name of a gay bar in Kansas?

 Ha ha funny funny, "Praetor." Actually, it's an adjective describing the lack of "I'll take it" posts here on your thread. :D
