As title really - who do you reckon will be the first of the good thrower makers to come up with a decent P7 driven thrower?

Is the P7 going to be really thristy if driven to its full potential of 700/800 or 900 lumen depending on the bin ?

Surely something with this much grunt (theoretically) is going to have a shortcoming showing itself up - such a toasting it etc

It's a toss up between Dereelight and Fenix. After all, Fenix was the first company to release a Cree X-RE light, the P1D-CE. But, Dereelight is a pretty innovative company, and I think they want to be the first with a DBS-like P7 turbohead thrower. It's only a matter of time, but, days...weeks..hours?

Doubt it will be fenix, they don't get their hands dirty with the bigger lights.

P7 is not a "thrower LED" because its size but neoseikan said that over 40 klux/1m is possible.

While I'm nearly positive he wont be the first *past experience has shown that much* Elektrolumens is going to make a P7-Longthrow which uses a 3" reflector, so it should be a pretty good thrower even though it wont be a pin-point spot.

Isn't the Surefire Optimus/Invictus using them?

And since the Optimus will be focusable to a tight beam, it should be a good thrower.
