Hi everyone
I'm seeing an Ebay vendor selling a superfire light, along with car/home charger and 4 rechargable -123 batteries. the auction is up to about $40, with a $15 shipping charge.

Given that most Superfires are in the $20 range, I'm wondering if the rechargable batteries make this a "deal" or not.

Thanks!

I wouldn't use the batteries, so to me it's not worth it. This is just my opinion, but when it comes to rechargeable batteries I don't like to cheap out. I'd rather get the $20 light and then four AW batteries and a proper charger for them. Sure, I'd be paying a bit extra, but I'm lowering the chance that my light will explode.

I agree. There was a recent thread where someone used knock-off panasonic CR123a batteries he bought on eBay and his batteries vented. The tailcap blew off like a rocket. Good thing no one was hurt in the process. Needless to say, he had to send his flashlight out for replacement. I rather stay safe with batteries others have used and trust.
