Hi...new here and can't find it answered anywhere. I was looking
at the increased output of the KX1 over the old KL1 and wondered if
it sports a Cree emitter? How does the hi lo function work since it
appears to be built into the head?

Thanks

I just received a new KX2 head and it comes apart pretty easy (as in, took just the lens off by accident). If there is an easy to way to tell what emitter it is by eye let me know and I will take a look.

It's a Cree, but you won't be able to tell the bin by looking.

L1/E1L/E2L/E1B all use the Cree XR-E LED. The bin is unknown but SureFire usually states a minimum, maximum brightness. If the specs tells 65 lumens, you will get at least 65 lumens with your light, but when batteries are new to only for a certain amount of hours depending of the light (regulated vs not regulated). Also, the stated runtime is always from maximum brightness down to 1 lumens (when batteries are completely depleted).

Thanks,

Does anyone know what the effective runtime would be with protected RCRs?
