SureFire KX1 head question

If I buy a new KX1 head for my old E1, will the high and low modes work with my momentary/twisty tailcap? Do I need a clicky tailcap for the 2 modes to work? Thanks.

AFAIK, as long as the make/break/make is done within 3 seconds, the head will not know the difference. It should work perfectly, but surely wouldn't be as easy as the clickie.
