diffuser film on L1

Anyone tried putting a piece of scotch tape or other diffuser film on their L1? I have the beamshaper, but don't really like keeping track of another small part. Just occurred to me to try some tape, maybe find a happy medium with the beam...

I popped the diffuser material out of an F04 filter and then filed it to press-fit into the bezel of the L1. It's been rock steady for as long as it's been in, through drops and such.

I managed to find some diffuser material so I will try to cut a neat circle. Do you know what diameter I should make it so that it just fits in a Fenix L1D-CE bezel?
