Couple tech questions about the everled

Is it a 1W or a 5W Luxeon? I would assume a 1W but hope I'm wrong. Also what exactly is a "buck-boost" circuit? (Or please point me to where this is discussed.) I would imagine the boost part boosts the voltage to an acceptable level to drive the Luxeon much like an Arc AAA.

it is a 1w. there is no way on earth the thermal issues of a 5w could be handled in the size of a pr base.
i am even slightly concerned with the thermal issues as it is...it does have electronic thermal protection...but still...

a buckboost will either reduce the power if to much is going in (greater than 2batts), or increase the power if not enough is going in (2 batts or less). this makes the everled capable of such a wide array of batts.

yes, boosts just like a aaa, ls, kl1, whatever...
