Have been very happy with my LS and BB400. They give a throw around at 15-20 meters and are relatively small. I am now looking for a light with a longer throw, say around ~40+ meters.

Light source: Prefer LS. Not sure about 5W LS as their rated life is low (500hrs) in comparison to 1W LS.
Use: General purpose, in built up areas and countryside with no ambient light.
Size: Not bigger than a 3D Mag
Run time: Not a large concern, obviously longer better
Brightness: The brighter the better

Aware of Electrolumens 5W cyan but...? What do fellow CPFers recommend?

I think you may be looking for one of Elektrolumen's 5w Blaster VI (they use 3 123's or 6 AA's). Seem to be about the size of a standard 2D flashlight...

if you are hesitant about a 5w, but still want brightness the blaster 2+ should be a good light.

smaller than a mag 3d, ha3, 1w, long-throwing...a great light.
