DX sells them. However, just upgrading the LED, the runtime will not change, but it will be about 2x brighter.

Swap out the board for one that puts out lower current.

^^^Yes, the LED is more efficient so you can swap in a driver with multiple modes to extend the runtime without loosing brightness. I have a multimode driver in my EDC and on med (35%) it's about as bright as my LUX III.
Maybe someone who's modded a 2L can suggest a good driver to go with a SSC P4.

I believe this light runs 2 123a's? you could try an 18650 cell, might not fit, but also less voltage will result in dimmer, I think. but more runtime. an 18650, new p4 or cree r2 with board swap so you run less m.a. but have the same or slightly more lumens as now with the old lux 3 will definetly improve runtime.

Swapping the board for something half the drive current and swapping the Seoul P4 should give you a slight improvement in output and double the runtime.
