There are plenty if you count AA and AAA NiMH cells. Fenix L1D-CE(Q5) for starters.

I presume that you meant RCR123a cells did you?

Mike

Oh yes, to suggest one in the RCR123a arena, try a Surefire E1e with Lumens Factory EO-E1R bulb. Oops, I am in the LED forum again.

Liteflux LF series: LF2 for AAA, LF4 for CR2, LF3 for CR123

They all officially accept rechargeable Li-ion batteries up to 4.2V

I use the AW RCR123a cells in my modified Surefire E1e. They feel well made, and it is reassuring to know that they have the short-circuit prevention and vent disable function.

Unfortunately, my E1e proved to be not so well made. Both the bezel cracked, and the tailcap internals shattered from a single fall. Still it is a very useful light when it works.

The Nitecore NDI also fits this description. It is much more affordable than the Novatac p-120. The NDI accepts rechargables lithium ion 14500, lithium AA, as well as an easily available primary alkaline AA, or NIMH AA. It has only 2 modes but one of them is completely variable from 3 lumens up to 130 lumens. It is very compact in size and is a great EDC.

Buffalo, I´m so sorry you could not get the Twisty to Durban. You told about your wish of a good knurling. And I understood you like the higher quality side. Its only my opinion: take the NovaTac 120P, it is even more than an alternative to Twisty, you will like it.

I have both of them, they are real EDC torches. Surefire is good without any question, with both Manufacturers you are on the save side.

Don't sweat it Rainer... I can definitely see a Ra light in my future, but it probably won't be the Twisty. I have it on good authority that the Twisty is just the beginning.... :sssh:

I'm just wanting to do some research as I've been off the scene for a bit and wanted to catch up with what's what.

There are so many new developments its impossible to keep track of it all...

What price range?

Or are you just compiling a list.

There are many lower priced ones too.

The D-mini is another one that has been around for a bit. But it's not really EDC able.

The LM33 is also another one.

Sticking with 1x123a type of flashlights, we have:

Fenix P1D and P2D
Lumapower Incendio
BitZ Pocket (http://www.bitz.co.kr/)
Surefire L1, E1B
Upcoming Nitecore Extreme
Zebralight H30-Q5 (for flood light/headlamp)

There are more, but that's all I could think of for the time being.

Can all these lights be used with rechargeables? This is where many like Fenix, Surefire, etc, fall by the wayside.
