♪♫ RARE LIGHTS ♪♫ TK McLux #041 (Sold) and Bare LionHeart (Sold)
Up for sale are these two rare lights, the original turnkey McLux #041 and a bare aluminum LionHeart. These are really nice lights but they are older technology. If you don't know what they are they may not be lights that you'll want to own.
A Beauty
Some detail on the Raw Al LionHeart.
I'm the second owner. I don't remember much of the detail on this light. It's a custom by Mr. Bulk. The emitter is a Lux III. The beam is throwy with a little artifacting around the spot. It's run by, I think, some form of Flupic UI. It runs off of a Pila which is included. I noticed that the anode on the Li-Ion is dented. It doesn't seem to effect performance at all. It has a green trit. The guy that sent it to me said it was a rough installation. I didn't understand until I ran my thumb across it and could tell that one side barely stuck out of alignment with the fins. It's normal for the switch to be a little stiff. I think this is a beautiful light. It's been a shelf queen in my office.
The Legend
Some detail on the TK McLux.
I'm the original owner. With handling, pretty quickly the EN darkened. Also the original bead blasted texture became smoother even though the EN is still uncompromised. Odd but true. I Flitzed the head and barrel but not the tail. The bezel has two horrible mars on it. I believe these occurred when yours truly left an inflated balloon on it and the EN corroded. I looked hard to find a new bezel a while back. About the time I was about to give up, some kind soul nana that has an intimate knowledge of this light came to the rescue with an unused head and bezel. He refused payment. This head and bezel is also included. This way you can have a perfect bezel or you can mod the head and still have the original TK McLux head.
The light presently sports a Carclo flood clear optical element, my preferred choice. It also includes a like new Fraen in a Terralux box as well as the original Mcflood. Also included is a tripod...a very cheap tripod but it works and looks good with the McLux as it is shiny silver/rough silver/black trim.
Possibly the most important and valuable included item is the provenance. The provenance is in the form of a photocopy of the original Skunk team still sealed in a baggy. These gentlemen, to me, are the personification of the spirit of the modification and custom building on CPF. As a team, they came together with different and over lapping skill sets to produce an exquisitely designed, bezel-down, personal illumination tool. Truly design Art. These guys are certainly quite intelligent but, as you can see, are all very handsome and could have been male super-models or motion picture stars had they been so inclined.
In acknowledgment of darellism, friendly off-topic discussion in this sales thread is highly encouraged in as much as moderators and admins will allow. BTW, I almost missed out on this but in the eleventh hour, darell made his last original run iteration available to me. Yes, darell built this one. I know that's a scary thought but he did a terrific job.
