bought some of these and got them today.
they appear to be 10 degree.
they are quite bluish/violetish but have a very uniform beam that does not seem to have the ugly greenish ring that most other cheap white leds have.
nowhere near as bright as nichias but ok for the price.
i noticed these can be grossly overdriven too.
if craig reads this he can get a few samples from me if he wants to do a full report.

In conclusion, you get what you paid for, right?
Compared to nichia, these things are greens. Perhaps 1 nichia comparable to 2 of these. Also, these things are not 10 degrees, more like 20 or 30 s; therefore, do not expect to have the throw like nichias.

maybe yours came from a different batch?
these are quite a bit narrower than the b1s in the arc aaa le i used for a comparison.
the die cup is set far to the rear of the case.
i am building a test target and will post some pics later.

Like you said, The nice thing about those is that they don't have the ring.

i wound up with some noname whites from a vender at fort wayne hamfest last year.
super bright but the puke green halo is bad.
they also seem to be red deficiant.
