Does anyone have a runtime graph of P7 running on 3xD/C or 1xD Lithium?
Which one push the P7 at maximum with longer time?

EDIT: D/C cells: here refers to Ni-Mh not Primary.

Thanks.

You can buy Saft D-cell Li-SOCl2 primary batteries rated at 3.6v and 13.0Ah. Of course they are almost $25 each. Not sure what they are used for.

I don't have graphs yet, but:
  • 3 x D size NiMH gives me over two hours at 3A to the SSC P7. They hold up well. I use noname but high quality 9000 mAh NiMH, such (quality) cells seem to have lower self discharge when they are under 10 000 mAh.
  • 1 x D size LiION unprotected 5000 mAh provide ~2.5 hours at 2.4A, ~2hours at 2.8A and ~1.45 hours at 3A.
All runtimes are flat with the AMC7135 based drivers I use with my CSXPI and CSWOI SSC P7 Mags. I bin = vf is 3.25V-3.5V.

You P7 is I binned, it is easier to mantain regulation but
my P7 is CSWOJ, do you think 3xD/C NiMH able to maintain the same level of regulation?

I am asking because, my current P7 M@g(8x7135+5mode) setup needs 5 Sanyo 2700 inside KD serial adapter to reach 2.8A. It must be the resistance in the adapter that push the amps lower, so i considering a lower resistance alternative(without adapter). I havent decided which way to go, 3xD/C or 1xD Lithium.

Thanks
