This is a sale of a Milky X600.4, The Stencil. This build is installed in a Surefire Turbohead and consists of 8 x P4 emitters driven by an Acorn. The light produces four levels of light. Runtime on primaries: max is 600 lu for one hour; medium for 4 hours; low for 18 hours, Ultra low for 140 hours.

Batteries are either 2 x lithium ion or 3 primaries. Thus, the light can be run on 3 x 123 primaries or 2 RCR 123's, 2 x 17670, 2 x 18650 or any other size li ions you can configure. This particular light is set up on a Leef 2 x 18650 body with a Surefire SW02 switch.

The cost of this build is $400 on your turbohead, or about $525.00. This sale includes the Leef 2 x 18650 body and the SW02. Condition of the light is like new.

To me, the genius of this light is that it is the ultimate emergency light not only because of its runtime, but also because of its multiple levels of brightness and its multiple configurations. The idea here was to strike a balance between runtime and brightness. Obviously, the light could have been made much brighter, but then it would not have been as efficient. Milky states the efficiency as 83 lumens per watt, which is in excess of FL lighting.

Re: MILKY X600.4 STENCIL 8 x SSCP4 PRICE REDUCTION

I was wondering what kind of throw your light has. Is it similar to a M6 or M4?

In my experience, led lights cannot compete with incandescent lights for throw. My farthest throwing light is an M4 fitted with an MN16 bulb powered by 2 x 18650's slightly discharged to prevent blowing the bulb. No led light that I know of comes close to this, and for that matter, few incandescents come close. Having said that, the Stencil produces a wide, bright beam that is useful out to forty or fifty yards, which, unless you have a special application, is probably what most people would find useful.

It is relatively straightforward to take an led and drive it to its maximum output, runtime be damned. It is less straightforward to strike a balance between brightness, runtime, and flexible usability.
