Just got an email from a friend who has been travelling about, I gave him a Traser glow light recently for his birthday. He also has an E2.

I was on a cave tour on Atiu island in the south pacific. We'd been
given the crappy, dead battery, cheap as dirt, incandescent, glowing
a faint yellow flashlights. Someone yells out that they see a giant
cave crab. Hard to make out. I smoothly pull out an E2 and illuminate the
scene. Ooo's, aaaah's, and "damn, that is an awesome flashlight" echoed
out of the darkness. Almost hated that I had to dilate the (lousy flashlight)
acclimated pupils of my companions.

LOCO is more like it.
Great excuse to blow some pupils... but he didn't really fall for it did he? The snipes are what you've gotta watch out for on Atiu Island.

Gilligan did have a problem with crabs, poor boy.
But he didn't get them from the caves.

Yes he did! Oh, no wait. I think it was a giant black fabric spider if I remember correctly. How did he deal with that situation in the days before tactical lights?

I won't have you people maligning snipes! I may have been a Deck Officer when I was in the USN, but even I will admit, as evil as snipes are, the ship won't go anywhere without them, mores the pity.
