Fenix L1D-CE question different innerworks (led)

Hello i bought two fenix L1D-CE's i am happy with them but here it comes on of them is noticablely brighter. they have different inner works the leds circuit look different and have different version names on it ? they called D01A and the other D2.

the DO1A shines a little less bright and has a negetive battery pole protection on its circuit so the - side can hit the circuit power input.

the D2 is the brighter one the led has a full yellow cover and on the D01A its smaller also the D2 hasn't the battery protection.

my question is whats the difference between these two revision? which one is the newest one and which on is the better one i would say the brighter one ?

i read the differences but which is the better one? The 2d is brighter and the D01A has a little more focused beam. which one will shine further ?

why has the newer one made less bright
