What's the build quality like on current production Pelican M6 3W LED (2390) lights? When the first M6 models came out there were lots of complaints about poor quality threads and unreliable switches. Have these issues been fixed?

(I'm looking at buying a light specifically to host an M60 dropin. If the M6 still has problems, I'll go for a Dereelight CL1H or Pila GL2 instead.)

I have 4 of the M6 Xenons, 2 have the sticky switch problems. I even tried taking it apart to add some dielectric grease to help it but to no avail. Don't know about the newer LED models.

i've had my 1st Pelican M6 (2330) in year 2002 & the newer M6 (2390) 2 years ago. no switch issues for both lights and remain are problem free up to today. only changed the polycarb window as it got marred.

if you're just getting the light as a host, the 2330 or 2320 should save you some $$.

My negative experiences about the Pelican M6:

2004 M6 lithium:
- rough, unreliable switch (twisty)
- wrong dimensioned o-ring at the front window
- rough bezel threads

2006 M6 led 3W
- unreliable switch (clicky)
- rough finish (anoying)
- presure vent holes make the light non-waterproof
