230 lumens out of a single CR123a batt may be a bit optimistic...
Nice enough prices though and the 18650 looks small for what it is.

One of the posters on DX seems to believe that the lights are resistored.

I like the 18650 light, but only if it has a real WC and a rgeulator.

In a moment of weakness I ordered the CR123A version. How did I convince myself, I have 4 unused CR123A rechargeables with no source to use them in.

Here is jtr1962's testing of a Q5
https://www.candlepowerforums.com/posts/2170040&postcount=141
900 mA >> 220.67 lumens
1000 mA >>237.37
My Minimak 14500 SSC-P4 and Little-Mini 18650 Q5 both are around 900 mA so I expect 230 LED lumens to be achievable. After optical losses expect ~160 lumens.

These lights are probably direct drive so for the CR123A light use 3.6V RCR123A batteries.
If you look at the voltage to ampere curve of the XRE.
https://www.candlepowerforums.com/posts/1657466&postcount=1
3.0V >> 250 mA >> 78.25 LED lumens for a CR123A
3.6V >> 2000 mA >> 900mA in an actual flashlight*** >> 220 LED lumens for a RCR123A
3X brighter is significant.

Between voltage drop of the battery under load, resistance in the switch/wires, and any dropping resistors added by Trustfire actual is ~900 mA. Any more and the LED will go :poof: See this post

Superbright lights are driving the LED to the limit. Any more current and :poof:

You are setting a bad example.
Let me see now. I got 2 18650 and 1 14500 lying around. ..... to be continued .....

The Cree Q5 that I have fitted in my 6D Mag was driven at 2.5A for a brief moment when I tested it. This light is performing extremely well due to a good heat sink and is currently driven at approx 1A.

I am very concerned about the heat dissapation of these lights and intend to use it around a camping fire where it will not be turned on for more than 5mins at a time. Think it should live up to it. Also figured that somebody @ CPF needs to test it and provide feedback. If it goes :poof:, I do have a spare emitter to replace the current one.
