Hi guys, I currently own a Jetbeam Mkii and an Ultrafire C3 with the 2 x AA extension, so in the small portable EDC department im more or less covered.

Also got a 3D Maglite with the 3W drop in, so the larger end is covered for reasaonably bright and long runtime lights.

Had a Fenix E01 but its so light that when i dropped it, i didnt even feel it go.

Anyway, need some expert opinions here, its both ends of the scale that i'm looking at:-

1. 1 x AAA light preferably 2 mode with a clicky (and brighter than the E01)

2. something in the size range of a TK10 but with slightly longer run times and the brightest beam possible. Saw the LED Lenser T7 and P7 but those are a bit priced out of my range.

Finally and thanks for bearing with me, i live in Singapore and would like to get something from DX which has free shipping worldwide, lots of times i want to get something that isnt available here but the cost of shipping is simply prohibitive.

Thanks a lot

I know the LF2X isn't a clicky, but I was about to buy it a few nights ago after all the AAA options I had considered..

Here's a video that pretty much had me sold on it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kor7tVHj3zo (Note: this is the LF2 version, the LF2X has a clip-on diffuser instead, and a better LED)

...and, it's on dealextreme:

..although if you end up liking the LF2X, you'd probably be better off ordering it from the cpf marketplace from a guy called LEDCool - you pay a bit more than you would at DX ($60 shipped), but he also matches the anodizing & gives you the tint you specify.

I think the only two things that stopped me from ordering the LF2X in the end were: 1. I already have a bunch of lights (one that I really, really like).. and 2. I'd prefer if this one were AA - for more brightness if/when needed, and the option for super-long runtime on the lowest mode.

There are quite a few reviews you should read if you're interested:

http://light-reviews.com/liteflux_lf2_x/review.html

I might just end up ordering it still -- I don't know.

You can check here if you plan on more mods for you mag.

As for the AAA light, clickie might be one of the thing that wil be hard to find but the Lumapower Avernger has 2 modes and a clickie.

For 2, if you want longer runtime, you will have to go dimmer. What output and runtime do you want?

Well, some kind soul actually found and returned my Fenix E01. He is one of the staff at this pub i go to and he remembered that i was playing with it. Had to buy him a few rounds of drinks (which cost more than what i would have had to pay for a new one, haha).

So now i dont have a reason to get another AAA light. damn!

As for my request for recommendations under (2) above, as my jetbeam already puts out 115 lumens (manufacturer stated), i guess im looking for something brighter than that with a run time of about 2-3 hrs i guess. 2 modes would be lovely too.

thanks a lot for the recommendations guys.

You won't get 2-3 hours of runtime @ 100+ lumens on any aa/aaa light.. unless it's multi-aa/aaa...
