Any suggestions to get my P3DCE to have a tighter focus ??

I have filed down the back of reflector boss so I can get the emitter further into the reflector, but now the head has butted against the body.

I assume it would involve making the emitter higher ??

The LED right now is probably at the right focal point.

If you want a tighter beam, you might have to go for a different reflector, or an optic (can be a pretty hard mod).

Fenix's best throwers are the T1 and TK10. Outside of Fenix, any of the Surefires with the TIR optics are probably the best pocket throwers.

I'm not sure how well and aspheric lens would work, but for something with max performace at a low price, I would get a relatively cheap(but at least decent quality) CR123 light, remove the driver, place in a Cree XR-E Q5 or R2, place in the right aspheric lens, install a RCR123(3.7v) and direct drive the LED.

That should give quite a bit of output and throw for the size, but for a short runtime.

One of the new narrow angle optics from Cutter sans holder would throw well in the P3D head.
