Minimag LED disassembly?

Anyone ever disassemble one? I have a 3AA that I would love to convert to an incan hotwire. I'd like to get the LED portion out of it without destroying it though.

Take out the batteries, take off the head, and press down hard on the black base of the LED pushing it towards the bottom of the light.

The LED will pull out from the black base as well. It is not soldered in.
