What happened to this LED?

It looks damaged somehow. I removed the glass, trying to mod it but never unscrewed anything else other than the switch.
Put it back together and it's very dim, dimmer than 1W.

Can't really tell but it looks as if air got into the dome & mixed with the gel? Did the dome get ligted? If you push on the dome can you see the gel move around?

While were on the topic, I've got some Luxeons that I'm curious what happened to them.

Two are shelf queens that rarely get used & the longbow module never saw that much use either. The chrome around the die is deteriorating & on one (less use than the other) turned completely black. Yet I have other luxeon light that have a lot of runtime on them & they look new. Anyone know what causes this?
