Newbie question about driver for SSC p7

I have just ordered:

1x SSC P7 off KD (http://www.kaidomain.com/WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=4466)

1x SSC P7 Driver (http://www.kaidomain.com/WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=4338)

The driver states "Input voltage 2.7V-6.0V" is this voltage then adjusted to suit the P7 attached? or does the voltage in = voltage out, but with regulated current?

I will be putting this setup into a Mag host.

The driver is actually 2 x 1400mA drivers attached to each other. You can find great info in this thread where both the 1050mA and 1400mA drivers are tested in detail: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/192925

The voltage in for the AMC7135 (which that driver uses several of) needs to be at least 0.12 V above the LED voltage for whatever current the LED is being driven at. If your LED needs 3.65 volts to run at 2.8 amps then your battery will need to be at least 3.65 + 0.12 = 3.77 V.
