You wouldn't by chance happen to have ROP Hi and Lo comparisons in the same setup would you? Thinking of buliding a 2C li-ion ROP...

After using the 1185 in the M6, I think it's my favorite high power option. It's a nice, clean package with great output and decent runtime. It's also more stable than the MN61.

You're pictures remind me why I like it so much. The diffuser shots were a nice touch also. The MN61 and 1185 light up that back wall pretty well even with the diffuser on.

I am deciding between WA1111 (on 2x18650) or WA1185 (on 3x17670) for the M6. Are the 17670 still driven within spec? What is a realistic runtime on these with a WA1185? Thank you.

(unfortunately fivemega's adapters are sold out and mdcocod should have a 2x18650 at the end of july soonest - so I am stuck with M6, I don't have a way to power the bulbs :ohgeez:)

I am deciding between WA1111 (on 2x18650) or WA1185 (on 3x17670) for the M6. Are the 17670 still driven within spec? What is a realistic runtime on these with a WA1185? Thank you.


The WA1111 on 18650s is very solid and produces a nice white beam. It's less touchy than the WA1185. If you're not careful how you charge the 17670s you can flash the 1185 every time in the M6....no fun :(. If you charge them to 4.1V each and give them a rest before using, then they're fine.

About 22-24 minutes for the 1185 before it dims quickly. It will run a few minutes longer but for me it seems pointless to continue using the light when the beam is orange.

Nice pictures--thanks for posting these beamshots!

Out of curiosity, how were you able to keep the aperture constant at f/2.8 when the SD1000 doesn't allow manual aperture [or shutter speed] control?
