will 6 c cell batteries fit in a 4D cell maglite with a tailcap mod?

a "C" cells is long 50 mm
a "D" cells is long 60mm
4*60= 240mm
6*50= 300mm
60mm Gap...
IMO you must use an extander...

right but the tailcap mod could possibly get me the other cell to fit.
I have 61.5mm for the d cell size also, so the tailcap and spring would only need to get you 50mm.

Or you know... you could always do the easy thing and just use 5?

You can jam in 7 or almost 8 1/2 D-Size NiMH Rechargeable Batterys from batteryspace.com, you'll have more capacity this way.
