Sorry, I have retired from flashlight modding & I do not make custom flashlights. Thank you for your understanding.

Nothing wrong with multiple reshoots, imo.

+1. I think you should try to make her happy by redoing the shots.

PhotoFanatic, once again, I'm stunned by your designs! I love the Mondrian-like patterns and I echo the comments about whether this could be a flashlight design.

In fact, I was thinking that you can combine two designs: Flashlight on the flat end and your incredible Luce de Notte on the round end... I'm not sure if that is even feasible as I'm not familiar with the Luce construction but the round end definitely made me think of it.
Btw, please tell me that you're doing another run of the Luce's!
Looking for: jhanko 'biohazard' V10R Ti clip, Luce de Notte (SS / Ti), SF Z2 (body, complete light, bored, unbored). Pls PM me with an offer.

Thanks for the kind words. Let me address your last point first--Yes, I am doing another run of Luce's, but it is already closed, unless you have your own Tritium sphere.

I have given some thought to a flashlight with the hemispherical end, although I can just hear the requests for tailstandability or keychainability.

What I do hope you will see instead will be another Mondrian inspired flashlight, with Ti anodizing. That's already been modeled and, to me at least, looks pretty nice. I am investigating whether to put that into production, but first I need to machine the light, a major project on a manual lathe, then we have to see if the anodizer can do a perfect job, and then, most likely, it will need to be remachined after the anodizing. Not a simple project, in other words; but that's what makes life interesting--trying to do something new and different. I'll never be able to that with the electronics side of the business, but the machining/designing venue offers something within reach.

Cool,to me it looks like a unarmed dalek.

quite expensive - lots of machining and hand work went into it! lets just say, somewhat-mcgizmo-priced-ish?

    Hi Fred,

I read this thread a while ago, and have thought about it periodically ever since. I would be interested in something along these lines, but perhaps more of the traditional worry stone shape, sort of egg shaped and thinner, and concave on the large sides for a thumb to rub, and easy to flip around in the fingers. Some sort of texture, but nothing jagged to rip up a finger if you rubbed it quite a bit. I love some of your exotic metal designs, don't know if I can afford them, but I would be interested to hear any ideas you might have. Else, I like Ti quite a bit too. Thanks.

    Hi nbp,

I'd love to be able to make what you our outlining, but most likely that would require a CNC machine to accomplish. Those kinds of surfaces, while not impossible, are pretty hard to achieve on a manual lathe, especially an oval shape.

I see, thanks Fred. I didn't know if it required a machine or could be done with more manual techniques or what. If you have any other ideas for something similar, I'd be interested to hear it. I love what you made for HH, it just seems a little "bulgey" to keep in my pocket. Something flatter would be more desireable, even if more circular than oval. Maybe like a textured half-dollar type item.

Send me an e-mail and we can discuss this--certainly something like a textured coin would be much easier to make.

I just carry a gold bullion coin. It can get you out of trouble in certain parts of the world. But, a custom bullion coin of the kind of designs Fred uses would be great!
