High guys,
there seems to be such a brains trust here on CPF, I hope some can help.
Im looking to make a mountain bike LED light. Id like to keep it as slim as possible with the most lumens possible. Hence I would like to use only a single led. Power will be supplied to the back of the head via cable from remote battery pack.
I was looking at the old KL3 heavily grooved head, because I like the wider beam(compared to the newer KL3), and Im thinking that the grooved head will give better heat dissipation(true?)
Is there an after market drop-in High output LED/reflector ,hopefully 300 lumens or more, that will fit the KL3, or maybe a special mod you feel would work very well even if it takes some tinkering?
If I need more light, I would have a 2nd LED unit built up, run a split power cable and switch it on as required.
Thanks for any good advice or other recommendations you may have.

There are no drop-ins, but there are modders like Milkyspit(here's one of his threads) who can mod the lights to what you want.

You can probably get over 1000 lumen from it but that will require lots of cooling and the beams will be pretty much pure flood.

:welcome:
