1" tube may be a bit small for the D size mag? I remenber seeing somewhere some tubes machined to the exact size made of Delrin I think. It was a while ago and I do not know if somebody is still making these nor who it was? Does anybody knows?

You should be able to find 35 mm od (od of D cell) x 25 mm id (od of C cell) black ABS or PVC pipe at any plumbing supply shop; fiit may be a bit tight. D cells are ~ 62 mm long, so cut to fit.

Perfect fit in my case.... 3D Mag to 4C. Much lighter and reduced capacity though.
