Does an AW protected 17670 fit in any of these lights? If not, what is the alternative?

I'm not sure about Fenix P3D, but I'm fairly certain that 17670 doesn't fit in SF E2L or E2D. You could send it to someone to bore out the battery tube to make it larger. Here's one at the customs section

Re: Protected 17670 in Surefire E2L? E2D? Fenix P3D?

Dobbler, I have an E2e with a KL1 bezel as well as a Fenix P3D... I am able to fit an AW 17670 in both lights. For the E2e / KL1 combo, using that battery appears to compress the spring a bit more in the tailcap than when using 2xRCR123's but there doesn't seem to be any issues with use.

I don't normally use the E2e / KL1 combination anymore but, with the P3D, it gives me just over 4 hours runtime on high (about 30 min more than when I use 2xRCR123's) but it doesn't run very well at all in Turbo mode (about 19minutes).

Fyi, I just did some measurements:
17670: 16.92mm
E2e body: 17.22mm
P3D: 17.11mm

A couple of notes: the cover on the AW17670 is a bit uneven so the diameter varies along the length of the battery so it fits snugly in both lights - not really a big issue since I can remove both the bezels and tailcaps to remove the battery. I have read in other threads that some people have issues with fitting a 17670 in their E2e / E2d / E2L so I don't know if I'm just lucky or, if it has to do with when the light was made.

Has anyone tried protected 17670's in one of the new E2L's or E2D's (LED models)?

An AW protected 17670 will power the E2DL head, but it will not fit into the stock E2DL body.

I have an older black E2e body which fits the 17670 that I use for some of my E-series Lego'ing.

You can either hunt down one of these bodies or get your E2DL body bored out.

17670s fit in the older e series bodies - I've heard that the newer ones won't accept the 17670s though. The two e series bodies I have both accept 17670s anyway.
