A FLOODY 1x18650 light in addition to my thrower Regalight WT1

I'm looking for floody, 1x18650 light as a second light beside my Regalight WT1 (which belongs more to the throwers)

Could you recommend me something?

I'm on a budget of <100 USD (including shipping to Germany)

Best that I've found so far is the L-mini sold by Shining Beam - but I really dislike the 5-mode user interface. I'm anxiously awaiting the 3-mode that is supposed to be coming out before the end of the June.

Meanwhile, I'm also looking into finding a good 18650/P60 host with a 1-1/4" diameter bezel. I'd like to drop in a Q5 or R2 module and combine that with a Surefire FM34 beam diffuser. See what the diffuser does to the Cabelas Q5-mod:

The problem with finding the right host is not just getting all the parts to fit (especially batteries), but also in the details of whether it is nicely finished, of good quality, well balanced, and has a well-made switch.

I hope others out there have some better advice for you. :ironic:

The L-mini is not floody!

Get a SSC-P7 light, preferably a multi mode one so you can use medium most of the time. With the 1 or 2 mode the lights run too hot on high and too dim on low.

The head of the L-mini is not glued so you can unscrew it for a more floody beam.

This is about the limit.

You can take the head off completely for a Zebralight style flood but I do not recommend that as the LED is now exposed.

An idea i can suggest is to replace the stock lense on any of the quality 18650 lights (eg. dereelight CL1H V4) with a UCL lens with the LDF from http://www.flashlightlens.com/ if you want a very floody beam.

I want an 18650 P7 Mule style light. It could be about the same size as a P3D. That would be fantastic.

Okay, the L-mini isn't, by definition, "floody". It's the best 18650 that I've found with good usable spill for the price.

I'd be happy with a multi-mode P7 that came with a 1.25" diameter bezel (to match up with my FM34 diffuser).

And there's also the utilitarian option of using Write-right cutouts.

I haven't seen any so my suggestion would be a diffuser or swapping the reflector for a floody optic.

The FM64 fits a bezel diameter of 3.7 cm. I think your WT1 is about 3.6 cm, so you'll need to make up the difference. (A few wraps of wide plastic tape should do the trick.)

You can get the same effect using a diffusing film or a diffusing lens, but the advantage to using the FM64 is that you can simply pop it open to restore your original beam. If you have got good manual dexterity, you can do this in less than 1 second. If you're clumsy like me, it might take you 3 seconds. The FM64 may not be pretty, but it is very convenient and it transforms the harsh spotlight into a buttery-soft warm blanket of light.

Is there some reason no one has recommended a Malkoff M60F flood type led pill for this unit? It is as floody as it gets and will run off that battery. What am I missing here?

Budget. The OP specified <$100USD shipped. M60F is $60 plus the cost of a host. Good quality (i.e. Type III w/ push button momentary switch) P60 host lights don't come much cheaper than $90. Add shipping and the total is way out of the OP's budget.

Generally I do not like DX lights, some of them are ok, some are not and it is very difficult to tell which is which.

The Sgt. Burkett is a nice quality light, where you can modify it yourself, the starting price is $34 (#0+shipping):
