Which is the older M3 head??

Is it the uniformly cylindrical one or the one with the flared base?

Also, is the diameter of both at the bezel the same?

1. Round cylindical one with Pyrex window

2. Round cylindrical with ribs

3 Flared base

I think 2 & 3 are the same diameter.....as for 1, I've never owned one so I don't know

I believe the round cylindrical without the hex had a polycarbonate window. I remember calling surefire about it after the lens melted due to my light being left on.

mm... thanks for the reply guys.. think I have a generation 2 in that case.. Is the lens made of glass for that one??

and oh.. how does one get the bezel open for Gen 2 one?? is there a tool similar to the HDS bezel tool which makes it easier??
