Hey guy I have a Surefire 6PL and I was wondering, can I drop in a P61 Lamp/reflector? I was looking at the Surefire website and under the optional lamp assemblies the 6PL area is blank. Thanks for the help guys.

Re: Surefire P61 upgrade

Yes you can use a P61 Lamp Assembly in your 6PL.
It's a straight swap for the P60L.

However, if you intend to use the P61 for several minutes at a time then I suggest you consider ensuring that your 6PL has a Pyrex (glass) window rather than Lexan (polycarbonate).
You can purchase a Z44-BK bezel with a Pyrex window.

I thought that all new 6P's had the Pyrex windows ?

Aren't all 6PL made of pyrex?
They should be. I am confident that current production are.
I am cautious because very early 6PL's may have been released with Lexan. I don't have any proof, just a feeling I can't resolve.

Point is that its really easy to check - glass sounds like glass when you tap it with a hard object - and that the P61 can melt Lexan so it's best to make sure first.
