We are running some tests for one Siberian factory at work, so I thought that it may be interesting to stick my headlamp into the climatic chamber...just for the fun.
Temperature: -57°C
Duration at the set temperature: 4 hr

Probably the most interesting information for CPFers might be that the LG 18650 Li-Ions work even at such conditions... well the light seemed a bit dimmer than at room temp, but I had no exact way of measuring it...

Interesting looking headlamp. Can you give us some details like what model etc, obviously you have done some modding on it.

Well it's built from scratch...my own design ... quite old this one though...I think I have built this one nealy two years ago...as soon as the Lux K2 samples were available...so the light engine is quite obsolete today.

Milled and turned from 2024 Duraluminium, 3 Omron nano-switches for rotary level control (DD - resistors), headband plate laminated from 3 plies of 200g/m^2 Twill weave carbon fibre cloth into negative mould, R&G 268 epoxy ... if I can remember correctly.

I am working on something a bit more interesting now, but that doesn't fit into this thread. One picture though:
