Default How to take the head off of a X1

? I'm trying to epoxy the entire electronics module to make it waterproof again, as the lens fell off.

Inova X1? Have you tried sending it back for repair/replacement?

Yes, but I'd have to pay $14 in shipping...$9 to there, and they said to include $5 back. $14 is about the same amount for a new X1, so I've decided not to send it back.

There's a freezing technique. Here's an old thread. Post #2 describes it.

Just tried that...until I realized Gen. 2 lights have a spring on the head that will compress. With no way to compress it while the water sets, it didn't work LOL. Back to the drawing board.

Bah, gave up on it. Used a nut so I wouldn't smash the copper/brass contact nub to pieces, and bashed the crap out of the light. Still hasn't budged an inch. Arrg...might as well get a new one. Anyone selling Gen 2 X1's, PM me.

Inova lights are like that...seriously unbreakable.
All Inova models excluding the X1 [2nd/3rd gen] have the window sandwiched inside the Stainless bezel. the X1 is glued on

Exactly....pisses the crap out of me. They make it so hard to take apart but so easy to break it unintentionally....my guess is that it wasn't meant to be fixed, replaced rather.

EDIT: SH!T...someone apparently got the goddamn head off: http://flashlight-forums.com/index.p...ic,4887.0.html

    Now to pm him....
