a top ten would be easier!!!

so many great movies...

hmmm. i really liked Forrest Gump. silly, i know. i laugh hard everytime i watch it...

for sci-fi, the Star Wars trilogy was great. hmmm. the Matrix was simply incredible.

horror? hmmm. Aliens (the 2nd one) was excellent...i guess it could be sci-fi as well.

as you can tell, my tastes are rather...uncivilized! no classics to be found (though i have not seen many classics--not even The Godfather or Gone With The Wind.).

The Godfather
High Plains Drifter
Tombstone
The Patriot (The Mel Gibson movie, not the cheesy Steven Segal movie of the same name)

Well, I've seen a lot of movies I like posted so far. Picking out 10 I like a lot without spending all day thinking about it, I would choose:

Star Trek II
Outlaw Josey Wales
Patton
The Highlander
Bullitt
Full Metal Jacket
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
King Kong vs. Godzilla (OK, I love most all G-movies)
The Blues Brothers
Heavy Metal

That's in no particular order, most of those titles are on my DVD rack and suddenly begging me to play them tonight...

So many great movies out there I have yet to see. Two movies I saw recently for the first time believe or not, that I loved are

Pulp Fiction
Deliverence

Another movie I saw for the first time not too long ago is The Shining. "Midnight with the stars and you....." It's already been posted but Blade Runner is a cult classic.

Monty Python and The Holy Grail

also, most of Mel Brooks' movies. "It's Good to be The King" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ahhh, I see from Brock's seemingly cryptic quotes that he has chosen The Fifth Element... yes, a very good movie indeed (I like Gary Oldman).

But one of my all time favorites is Silence of the Lambs ...the part where Jodie Foster (Agent Starling) is suddenly thrust into complete darkness with an armed serial killer equipped with night vision in the basement is an all time "Where's your damn flashlight!" caper!

I love great comedy. These are my all-time favorites:

Ford Fairlane (Andrew Dice Clay)Sheer comedic genius.
Earth Girls are Easy (Geena Davis, Julie Brown)Funny lines, GREAT eye candy. I WORSHIP Geena Davis.
When Mars Attacks (Jack Nicholson) I laughed so hard it hurt.
Shanghai Surprise (Sean Penn, Madonna) Madonna's portrayal in this is just intense.
Spice World (Geri Halliwell, Victoria Adams) I love the Spice Girls. Didn't even realize that they acted.
