Re: LUX? What does this mean?

Lux is intensity of light, usually measured at the center of the beam at one meter. Lux and candlepower are pretty much the same thing.

As Keygrip says, it's a measure of intensity of the light. Lux is technically lumen per square meter but it can be measures at a smaller surface. Lux numbers taken at the same distance can be compared to see which light throw better then another(most numbers here are taken at 1 meter).

Candle power usually serves the same purpose but many companies misuse them.

Re: LUX? What does this mean?

are lumens and candle power the same?

This is in the Welcome Mat FAQ and the Wiki, but I'll answer it here as well. No, they are not the same. There is no way to directly compare the two as the measure different things.
