The EX10 is indeed one of the favourites around here now (reviewed here). The Lumapower Incendio is another choice for the same small size, with defined levels similar to the Fenix. For a full comparison of all your choices, see my:

1xCR123A/RCR Round-up Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, & more!

I've also just reviewed the new ITP C9. They will be releasing a Tactical version in a week or two that lacks the strobe/SOS modes.

There are a LOT of choices in the 1x123 format, and you're going to get a whole range of recommendations.

If you really like the P1D's form and you don't mind also losing multi-mode ability, there's always the Fenix P1 (no D), which is pretty much the same flashlight, slightly smaller, with just the one regulated output mode (90 lumens, ~2 hours). Not quite as bright, but $20 cheaper than the P1D Q5. https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_69_51&products_id=317

If keeping it small is a prime concern, there's the Lumapower IncenDio Q5, which is just slightly larger than the P1D, but uses a clicky button. It has just three set modes (high-medium-low), no strobe/SOS/flashy settings. Still not as bright, but about $15 cheaper than the P1D Q5. http://www.batteryjunction.com/incendio.html

If brightness is what you're after, there's the JetBeam Jet-II IBS. This one is notably bigger than the P1D, but can put out 225 lumens (and go all the way down to 2). It uses an infinitely variable brightness control with three memory positions, so you can program in what you want each mode to be (so there's no strobe/SOS mode unless you choose one to be a mode). Using your CPF discount, this one is roughly the same price as the P1D. http://www.bugoutgearusa.com/jetiiibs.html

Don't forget to check out Selfbuilt's 1x123 shootout: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/201117

Hope this helps!

Keep in mine that the strobe and SOS are at the end of the cycles, so 99% of the time you never have to even see them, let alone cycle through them.

Takes some work to program, but in the end you get what you want, and you only have to reprogram it once. User can select up to 5 modes. Each mode is programable.
