Fenix E01 / Nichia GS/CS mod?

I remember a while back someone posted commentary on the Nichia GS/CS emitters. It was a mod to alleviate the blue hot spot, by filing down the tip of the emitter dome to better blend the blue with the remaining warm tint.

Has anyone else tried this?

If I put tape or some sort of diffuser over my E01, it seems to get rid of the blue spot. Ends up with a nice tint. I may try sanding down my E01
