I haven't seen much on this light so I thought I'd give my opinion on my recent purchase from Shiningbeam. The MF DA1 (I like the Bare Aluminum version) has turned out to be a very practical light by using regular AA Alkaline or NiMh batteries. It's brighter than my Nitecore D10 (and is as bright as the D10 with 14500 Li-ion batteries). The textured aluminum reflector gives a nice balanced beam through a glass lens. The tint is perfect with no greenish or blueish hue. The three brightness modes are useful (though I don't care for the other two strobe and S.O.S modes). It tail stands and also comes with a holster (my Jetbeam II I.B.S didn't). The metal tin box is, by far, better suited for gift-giving than those plain white paper boxes. The price won't break the bank either (I already bought 4, I just bought 4 more for gifts).
