Some time ago I purchased the light from this thread:

which was originally from this thread:

It is an amazing light, very impressive, and it will light paper on fire. I took it up to Muskoka (north of Toronto) a couple of weekends ago with a bunch of kids for a church retreat, and used it light up the forest while we searched for marshmallow toasting sticks.

Anyways, the bulb appears to have died. I'm not sure how long these last but there was a poof and then, no more light. I'm not sure how to test the bulb but I'm assuming that's the problem.

On to the questions. Should I replace the existing bulb with another WA1164 or is there something newer and better out there? Where can I get replacement bulbs (Google didn't help much), and can I use this reflector on my light:

Thanks

Source for bulbs:

Here at the Marketplace. You can stick with the excellent 1164, or perhaps try the Carley H1499 from the same thread. The latter has a higher "normal" operating voltage, so is overdriven less, and might therfore last a bit longer. I'd be tempted to try both.

But have a read of the above thread in the meantime anyway.
