Solarforce L1200 vs L2

Hi all,

There doesn't seem to be much first-hand information around about the Solarforce L1200, the "1200 lumen" xenon light. The most useful thread on the boards here gets sidetracked a bit about a different model, and there's next to nothing elsewhere.

Anyway, my current most throwy light is a Solarforce L2 with an R2 emitter. I had a Tiablo A9 on order with DX for months, but finally cancelled it. So, I'm contemplating something else. The L1200 certainly looks impressive, but I don't have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to incans, so I'm not sure I'm in a good position to asses it.

Can anyone comment on whether the xenon L1200 is likely to be vastly superior to the LED L2 I currently have?

Alternatively, feel free to suggest any other throwers, bearing in mind that they'd have to be significantly better than the L2...

Thanks, guys! :grin2:

NB: I'm assuming we'll be talking about 18650 or 16340 based lights...

Solarforce L900. More economical version of L1200. Both are waaay bigger than Tiablo A9 (3x18650 vs. 1x18650).

Thanks, I hadn't really considered the L900, assuming it would be too floody, but a quick search seems to suggest otherwise. My god though, I'd just braced myself for L1200 prices, and that thing is even more :mecry:

Over two hours runtime, though...

Decisions, decisions!
