two similar products with different prices

I've noticed that two companies, PhotonLight and Flashing Panda, sell very similar products.

However, the prices are very different. For example, the Photon Micro-Light II keychain LED from PhotonLight costs $15.95, but Flashing Panda sells similar keychain LEDs for just $2.95.

Is there any reason one should buy from one company instead of the other?

Flashing Panda sells a hideously overpriced version of the 47 cent "fauxton"

The Photon Microlight is the original, and much better made. I actually used to be very pro-fauxton until I got a few real Photons. I still have a bunch of the cheap fauxtons, and hand them out very liberally to people, and keep them stashed around the house, but only Photon's ride on my keychain anymore.

FYI, CFR Lights has much cheaper Photon prices than PhotonLight

They are lights of completely different quality. I think Photonlight might be the first to have lights in that shape and powered by those battery. The lights flashlingpanda sells are overpriced, Check Dealextreme and see if you can find the same/similar light for a lower cost?

Hmm, the lights from Flashing Panda are different than the ones from DealExtreme and PhotonLight. (The on-off switch is on the opposite side of the momentary switch in the FP version, but it's on the same side in the DX/PL versions.) I guess it doesn't matter since they have the same functionality.

Also, CFR doesn't actually sell UV lights in "keychain" form (they are more like miniature flashlights). Does anyone know any sites that sell cheap UV keychain LEDs, aside from DX?

You can get the Photon Microlight (Micro I, or Freedom) in UV from CFR
