FS: I'll take but no further contact?

This isn't on the BST but another forum I'm on.

I put up a FS post, the proposed buyer post on the thread then contacts me PM for details. He happens to be local and we arrange to meet up. Meantime, I'm getting inquiries to buy the item by others. I place them in the back-up queue if this buyer defaults.

An hour before I'm supposed to meet, the buyer contacts me saying he can't make it. I tell him no problem, when you get back. I haven't heard from him and it is now been about 5 days. How long would you wait before going to one of the alternates?

I believe you already have given sufficient time.

Assuming you agreed upon a time frame when he would complete the deal? That should dictate your actions.

If you didn't agree on a plan but left it hazy then it's kind of a judgement call. Unless he had a reason and explanation for his inability to meet, along with another meeting time, I'd go to the next guy in 24hrs.
