Why did Arc Flashlight fold?

I am, of course, talking about the old Arc Flashlight. As far as I remember, the Arc-AAA was a top seller, and if you wanted to take an Arc-LS away from most owners you'd have to pry it out of their cold, dead hands.
So why, exactly, did it go out of business? I think I read something about it ages ago, but if I did I forgot everything.

Short story is Mag sued them out of existence for making a 1xAAA twisty light with circumferential lettering. That's one reason why Mag is rarely spelled out fully, or correctly here. Partly out of spite, and partly to avoid their name showing up in web crawlers so their lawyers could find new targets here.
