Do DX small orders ship faster than big ones

Placed a DX order with 11 items, the ETA for things to be packaged is 10 days from now! Since their website says this should usually take only 4-5 days I was thinking maybe it would be faster to cancel the order and re-order the things I want right away with EMS, and then place another order for the other things.

How many items were in your DX order and how fast did it get packaged?

I had an order of 9 items once (emitters, o-rings, and LEDs).

4 of those items went on back order, so the whole order was delayed a week.

I ended up getting the order just over 2 weeks after I placed it.

One thing to keep in mind with DX is that the items you are ordering likely are not actually in DX's hands but at a supplier warehouse. The wait time is for the items to get from the various suppliers to DX for packaging and shipping.

Pretty much everything on DX ships free regardless of price. How about making many small orders each containing just one item? Even if something is back-ordered, the other items will still be shipped.

At least this should work in theory. DX might combine same-person same-day orders into a single shipment.
