OP stated that they wanted to upgrade their 6p not buy a dereelight.....

As far as what you are looking for in a d26 (p60) host I would suggest the Malkoff M60 hands down. I have a couple and will not part with them.
The other drop in I would suggest would be the lumens factory d26 led dropin.

The P60 type drop-ins right now seem to be limited by space. The best you can get I can think of is one of the Dereelight drop-ins with the smooth reflector. A member here, I think it was WadeF, got around 10000 lux after focusing the drop-in a bit.

If you feel like modding, the right lens or optic might give you more throw.

Hi,

I was trying to read through the P60 Drop in topic and my head is spinning.

Can someone suggest which one to get? I want the brightest possible with the tightest beam.

I bought a couple of Cree R2's and its ok.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.... Trying to upgrade my 6P.

Would like:
-1 mode
-Brightest possible from 6 or 9v
-Tightest beam

THANKS!!!

The malkoff m60. It has the tightest beam I know of for a standard 6p head. It uses an optic to achieve this. The led is a Q5 but because of the optic and driver combination it pumps out more than 200 real lumens. It's been tested by a few of the members here.

Thanks guys! I appreciate it, I think I will have to try some of the ones you've suggested....

Is the BOG "Super Premium" LED drop in any good? (Cree Q5 Super Premium). I was looking at that but none of you suggested it.

It is a good drop-in.

The textured reflector means that it has a bit less throw then a smooth reflectored light though.

There is only so much space available for the drop-in and it seems like the throw is much more limited by the space then by reflector or optic design.
