Yes they did change it [a lot actually] and yes they do come with a Z51 TailCap Lanyard Kit.

Please email me if you would like photos showing the change in M6 TailCap design.

I would love a clickie on my M6 too! But then, it'd be too easy for me to leave it running ALL the time. hehe.

I would like to have a kilowatt hour meter on the back of mine you know like the power company has on the service entrance of your house. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

one thing i like about the momentary-on lotc of surefires is that it keeps you from wasting the batteries. somehow when turning it constant-on is a chore and keeping it on momentarily requires constant pressure on the button, it makes you less likely to leave it on unnecessarily and more aware of the batteries you're using up...kinda like an afterburner on a jet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am happy with the tailcap the SF M6 has right now as a clickie tailcap would only make the light longer, but the small size of the light is what makes it so impressive. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Dimples? I think you're going to need to post or email me a photo because I'm not sure what you're talking about!

I would like to say that the "new" design is "current" and has been for sometime. The "old" design is the "original" design.

Here's a pic...

I think the tailcap may have been smooth on previous releases. That's what I'm wondering, is this the new one?

As far as I know the M6 has always been that way.

You do have a current M6 - look at the logo and the serial number as well as the LockOut ident notch on the body...

There are some interesting options for your TurboHead that will allow you to use other parts for the Millenium series and use remote tape switches and the like, but nothing for the actual tailcap itself that I can find.

The Millennium TurboHead on the M6 is the same Millennium TurboHead on the following Millennium TurboHead models:

M3T [MN15/MN16]
M4 [MN60/MN61]
M5x0AB [MN15/MN16]
M5x0B [MN20/MN21]
M900AB [MN15/MN16]
M97 Series [MN15/MN16]
M98 Series [MN60/MN61]
1251 Type (1" scope mounts) [MN61]
1252 Type (30mm scope mounts) [MN61]
1265 (no mounts, 6" momentary tape switch) [MN61]
LM15 (M5x0 AB Module) [MN15/MN16]
LM20 (M5x0 B Module) [MN20/MN21]
LU15 (M97 Module) [MN15/MN16]
LU20 (M98 Module) [MN60/MN61]
KT4 (Converts from A to AB) [MN15/MN16]
KM501 (Converts from M5x0 A to M5x0 B) [MN20/MN21]

Therefore the Millennium TurboHead from your M6 can be used with the right lamps on quite a few different model groups.
Perhaps the most simple conversion you can use your M6 Millennium TurboHead for is to create your own KT4 (you'll need MN15 & MN16 Lamps) and convert an M3 or another Z46 Bezel model to an M3T (WeaponLights mainly use "AB" code).

would it be possible to mod the m6 tailswitch with a kroll, like what can be done with the e2e?

for that matter...what kind of switch is the m6?

i thought i already asked that...but guess not /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

The SureFire M6 is a LockOut TailCap push button pressure switch. In operation it is a normal TailCap - press for light. Screw on for constant-on and does LockOut.
