Questions:

My Surefire U2 head is a bit purple. Are all U2 heads a bit purple or just some?

The low level is rated at 2 lumens but seems much brighter - is that correct?

Has anyone modded these with a P7 yet?

If you use a 17670 or have a 18650 tube not using 2xCR123 will allow you to use a robust emitter for more light and increased runtime. When the P4 first came out people swapped it in but the levels were a bit off.

If you're looking for increased efficiency without much modding I'd say the K2-TFFC emitter shoehorned in will work. This is so you don't have to mess with the reflector.

The only other cool upgrade I've seen is the 4 rebel milky has been doing. That's a bit more work.

I have had U2's that looked a bit purple and currently have one like yours. The low setting is more than 2 lumens by a large margin in all of the U2's that I own (4) and have owned.
